The Rite of Purple Ink is another ritual occurring in the game Fatal Frame III: The Tormented. The blood of the living and the dead is gathered in order to create the Ink of the Soul which is used to tattoo the priestess.
The Ritual[]
Veiled worshipers come to visit the Kuze Shrine accompanied with the body their dear deceased ones. The dead body is suspended between the two Buddha statues by the reins held by the statues. The blood of the dead is collected by the Engravers as Indigo Ink. The living worshipers also offer their blood as the Red Ink. These two inks are then mixed together to form the Ink of the Soul. This ink is used to etch the priestess with the Snake and Holly Tree Tattoo, enabling the pain of the dead and worshipers to be passed to her.
